What went wrong, and what to do now.
If the answer is not here, write to a person. Takits is small enough that you will reach one.
At the door
For the volunteer holding the phone, with a queue behind them.
The scanner will not load and there is no signal.
If the phone opened this scanner once while it had signal, it will open now — pull down to reload. If it never did, use another volunteer's phone that has, or switch to the typed code: every ticket has a short code printed under the QR that can be entered by hand.
It says the scan is queued and unverified.
That means the network dropped, not that the ticket is bad. Let the person in if you recognise the registration, and the scan will verify itself when signal returns. Nothing is lost — the queue survives closing the tab.
Someone is not on the list.
Use Walk-in. It records them as a real attendee at the door rather than leaving them out of the count, and they still appear in the export afterwards.
The scanner is asking for a PIN.
Each event has its own door PIN. The organiser can see and rotate it from the event's attendee list. It is per event, so sharing it with volunteers does not give away anything else.
The camera will not turn on.
The browser needs camera permission, and only over HTTPS. If it was refused once, the site's permissions have to be reset in browser settings. The typed code works regardless and needs no camera.
For attendees
You registered for something.
My ticket never arrived.
Check spam first — a new sender usually lands there once. If it is genuinely missing, ask the organiser to resend it or to send you the ticket link directly; they can do both from their dashboard. You can also open any ticket you hold from My tickets while signed in.
The event needs approval. How long does that take?
That is the organiser's call, not an automatic timer. You will get an email when they approve or decline. Until then the registration is held, not lost.
Can I bring someone?
Ask the organiser. Most will add a walk-in at the door; private and approval-required events usually will not.
Where is my certificate?
Certificates are issued after an event, by the organiser, and only for people who actually checked in. When one is issued you get an email with a permanent verification link — that link is the real certificate, so keep it rather than only the PDF.
How do I delete my data?
Use the data request page. A person handles it; it does not vanish into a form.
For organisers
You are running the thing.
Is email actually working on my events?
Your dashboard shows what address the site sends as, and has a Send me a test email button that reports the mail provider's own answer. If something is wrong it names the one thing to change instead of failing silently.
Can I take payments?
Not yet — there is no checkout in the product. Free events are free and unlimited. Paid ticketing is Phase 2, from December 2026; see the pricing page.
How do I let a volunteer run the door without giving them everything?
Invite them to your team as Door only. They can scan and admit, and nothing else — no attendee export, no event editing, no other events.
What is the show rate?
Checked in, divided by registered. It is the number nobody usually has, and the reason the door scanner exists. If you set a catering guarantee, the dashboard also shows how far over or under you came.
Can I get my attendee list out?
Yes, CSV from any event you manage, whenever you want. It is your list.
Can I ask my own registration questions?
Yes. Add them when you create or edit the event; answers are validated on the server and included in the export.
