Takits installs to your home screen straight from the web, on both Android and iPhone. It opens full screen with no browser bar, and the door scanner keeps working when the venue’s network does not.
Android
- Open takits.online in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu.
- Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen.
iPhone and iPad
- Open takits.online in Safari. It has to be Safari — Apple does not allow other iPhone browsers to install web apps, so the option will not appear in Chrome.
- Tap the Share button, the square with the arrow.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
The door, without signal
Gymnasiums, barangay halls and provincial venues have bad signal. This is the part worth testing before the event rather than at it.
On the phone that will run the door, open the event's scanner link while it still has a connection. Wait for the line under the title to say the phone can open the scanner without a network — that sentence is the phone reporting a fact, not a promise.
It opens on a dead connection, styled and working. Scan tickets as normal; each one is kept and marked unverified rather than admitted blind, so a volunteer knows what they are looking at.
When signal returns, queued scans are sent and settled. A definitive answer — wrong PIN, no such ticket — settles immediately; anything that only failed because of the network stays queued instead of disappearing.
Is it on the App Store or Google Play?
Not yet, and the installed web app is not a stopgap for one. It runs from the home screen, works offline where it counts, and updates the moment a fix ships — no review queue, no waiting for anyone to update anything.
Store listings are worth having for discovery and trust, and the build that produces them is already prepared. They will appear here when they are real rather than as a “coming soon” badge.
